Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army Semi-Automatic Pistol, #61050, .45 ACP cal., 5" barrel, blued finish, checkered double diamond walnut grips, with standard blade front sight, and fixed "U"-notched rear sight. Includes one blued steel magazine, base is marked "COLT/45 AUTO". Mfgd early-1914. Frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with "WGP" (Maj. Walter G. Penfield) inspection mark on the left side. Slide has the patent dates to Feb. 14, 1911, and Colt company markings on the left side, with a "(Rampant Colt)" at the rear that is not circled. Right side is marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Barrel is marked "H H" and does not have a "P" on top, which may be a factory error. Pistol is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 65%-70% factory blue, with wear on the grip area and along the slide, with scattered light spots of freckling. Magazine catch screw is lightly burred. Grips are very good showing moderate wear. Action works properly. Bore is very good with sharp rifling. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (C&R/PPT)
